Celebrating its 65th anniversary this month, the former East Range Shopper, now The East Range Times, is under new ownership and has plans to become an official newspaper.
First published in April 1958, the print publication is a go-to for local ads and announcements. It has a distribution of approximately 6,000 copies each week to Aurora, Biwabik, Gilbert, Hoyt Lakes and surrounding areas.
New owners Nona Kennedy and her husband Ciaran purchased the Shopper in June 2022.
“I’m glad we’re able to keep it going. I’m told a lot of people depend on it for events, advertising, and seeing what’s going on locally,” said Nona. “Our plan is to have an official newspaper by the end of the year.”
