Shaun Hainey is joining the Iron Range Tourism Bureau as a board member. In this new capacity, Shaun will work to strengthen the ties between the East Range Joint Powers Board, the Iron Range Tourism Bureau, and other entities with the goal of helping to strategically promote the East Range.

As consultant for Northspan, the Duluth-based nonprofit consulting firm, and as program manager for Northland Connection, Shaun also serves as Northspan’s staff consultant to the East Range Joint Powers Board. The ERJPB is a collaboration between communities on Minnesota’s East Range which fosters economic development in Aurora, Biwabik, Hoyt Lakes, and the Town of White. ERJPB coordinates with local, regional, state, and federal entities on a range of community building efforts.

Tourism is thriving on the East Range and awareness of all this region has to offer is on the rise, thanks to the efforts of groups like ERJPB and IRTB,” said Shaun. “World-class attractions like Giants Ridge already enjoy high levels of popularity. We look forward to further supporting existing highlights like the region’s robust multi-use trail systems as well as new ventures and emerging trends like astro tourism.”
